Senior Business Development Representative

Job description

As a Senior Business Development Representative, you are the front line between TELUS and prospects. You are actively supporting Sales Executives in creating qualified sales opportunities and achieving pipeline growth targets. Your ability to navigate to relevant prospects, nurture relationships, uncover opportunities, and collaborate strategically with Sales Executives in your assigned territory/ industries are key to success. In addition, you will assist in managing and nurturing opportunities to ensure their progression through the sales funnel.

You daily challenges:

Meet a monthly quota of qualified sales opportunities and pipeline growth targets to be assigned to Sales Executives (SEs)
Actively support in sales prospect activities and establishment of a territory penetration and development strategy
Maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities for TELUS products in assigned territory by researching accounts and creating relationships with various levels and multiple departments in each organization
Ensure progression of opportunities through the sales funnel
Event support: Trade shows and Corp Events, including lead follow-up
Understand TELUS value proposition, and positioning / keep up-to-date on the competition’s positioning within the marketplace
Consistently log activities, contact/account intelligence, and competitive data in CRM system
Coordinate with other departments in relation to preparing and executing sales development campaigns
Provide feedback on sales tools, prospect intelligence, and results from campaign follow-up
Keep up-to-date on industry trends and sales tools/techniques
Obtain relevant information from customers, French press and Internet and generate creative and resourceful content

What are our expectations:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field (International University Degree will be considered as an advantage)
Excellent English language knowledge
Minimum 1-2 years of successful experience in sales development, business development or inside sales role for an international company; experience in the outsourcing industry is an advantage
Competent in mass communication and digital tools (SalesForce emailing function, Hubspot, LinkedIn)
Well spoken – exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
Creative and resourceful with excellent negotiation skills
Professional business acumen, good presence, confidence, and interactive personality for face to face meetings at tradeshows or other industry events; Willingness to simultaneously accept and contribute new ideas
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Passionate, methodical and systematically drive tasks to completion
Team-oriented with positive attitude
